Munster have announced that their defence coach JP Ferreira has signed a contract extension which will keep him in Limerick until June 2022.
Ferreira arrived at Munster in December 2017 as he replaced Jacques Nienaber who departed for the Springboks alongside Rassie Erasmus.
Ferreira has had a strong impact in his time with the southern province with Munster boasting the best defensive record in the Guinness PRO14 last season.
Munster also announced that new forwards coach Graham Rowntree began work on Monday after his time with Georgia at the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan.
Munster’s international contingent will return to training next week and it has also been confirmed that Joey Carbery will continue to rehab the ankle injury which he was managing during the World Cup.
As of yet, it is not known whether Carbery will be a doubt for the beginning of Munster’s Heineken Champions Cup campaign which begins on Saturday, November 16.
In more positive news, there were no injuries from Friday night’s bonus-point win over the Ospreys while Chris Cloete has returned to full training.
