Watch: Anthony Joshua’s Life Story Told In Inspirational Short Film

Unbeaten IBF heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has had his life story told in an inspirational short film ahead of his title defence against Wladimir Klitschko later this month.

Created by Lucozade and titled ‘Nobody Ever Moved Forward Standing Still’, the film will be broadcast before the big fight on April 29.

It’s a heart-warming look at the 2012 Olympic gold medallist’s life, starting with his birth in Watford in 1989 and ending as he prepares to do battle with the former heavyweight king in front of 90,000 people at Wembley Stadium.

The film charts the highs, with childhood success at athletics and football as well as his knockout victory over Dillian Whyte. It also includes the lows, including his arrest and having to wear an electronic tag.

Joshua appears in the video, alongside his mother, and has revealed he liked the concept of the film.

He said (via the Evening Standard):

“It has been a real journey from growing up in Watford to fighting at Wembley Stadium.

“Everything in between; all the things I have done and all the people that have supported me, have made me who I am today and this film illustrates that.

“I am excited to share my journey with my fans and I hope that it inspires the hunger in others.”

The fight with Klitschko will be Joshua’s 19th professional contest. It’s also the third defence of the title he won in April last year.

It is widely considered to be his career defining fight and would propel him to superstar status. A win would see him talked about amongst the best of all time.

However, Klitschko is eager to regain some of the titles he lost to Tyson Fury in November 2015. He is said to be in great shape and believes he can once again rule the heavyweight division.

It is a highly-anticipated contest and this latest video should help build anticipation as fight night draws nearer.
