For this week’s Throwback Thursday, we look back at Munster’s famous win over the Wallabies back in November 2010.
In treacherous conditions, Munster defied the odds to overcome Australia 15 – 6 to write another chapter in their illustrious history. A typically spirited display by the red army led by outhalf Paul Warwick who had a fine game with the boot considering the conditions, scoring all of his sides 15 points. An up and coming new generation of young players such as Man of the Match Ian Nagle and Peter O’ Mahony, who was just recently appointed the Munster captaincy, also announced their arrival on the big stage with fine performances. A Munster performance that summed up the passion and pride of wearing the famous red jersey.
The 16th of November 2010 will live long in the memory of the Red Army.
