There is major news breaking in the world of golf this morning, as Rory McIlroy is splitting with caddy JP Fitzgerald. The duo have teamed up for the 28-year-old’s remarkable career to date, as he scooped four majors.
Reports are emerging this morning of the split, as the 28-year-old looks to get back to winning ways. McIlroy has been somewhat struggling for form in 2017, and although he did manage a fourth-place finish at the British Open, perhaps he feels he needs to shake things up.
According to Reuters, McIlroy will have a new caddy on his bag for this week’s Bridgestone Invitational.
This comes just one week after McIlroy revealed how Fitzgerald’s inspirational words got him up and running following a disastrous start at the British Open.
The reaction has been mixed.
I'd say the queue for @McIlroyRory bag will be longer than one of his drives.

Rory McIlroy has sacked JP Fitzgerald, now on Reuters. I hear a rumour he'll have friend Harry Diamond on the bag at Firestone.
