NFL Play-Off Line-Up Is Set After Dramatic Week 17 Concludes Regular Season

Just twelve teams remain as the battle for the Vince Lombardi trophy is set to intensify as we prepare for the NFL play-offs.

The Buffalo Bills ended the longest play-off drought in the league, reaching the post-season for the first time since 1999 – a 22-16 win over the Miami Dolphins combined with the Cincinnati Bengals dramatic win over the Baltimore Ravens ensuring that Sean McDermott’s side would be playing football in January.

The win gave the Bills the number six seed and they will have it all to do as they will face the 10-6 Jacksonville Jaguars, who won the AFC South despite a 15-10 loss to the Tennessee Titans on Sunday.

That Titans win meant that they got into the post-season – they will meet AFC West champions Kansas City Chiefs.

The New England Patriots and Pittsburgh Steelers have byes to the Divisional Round with the Pats claiming the number one seed and home advantage throughout the AFC Championship.

In the NFC, the Philadelphia Eagles will be the top seed, this is despite a bizarre 6-0 defeat to the Dallas Cowboys in week 17.

Also with a bye to the Divisional Round are the Minnesota Vikings – Mike Zimmer’s team are bidding to be the first team to play a Super Bowl at home as the sport’s showpiece event takes place at the US Bank Stadium next month.

A 22-10 win for the Atlanta Falcons ensured that they took the number six seed – they now face Carolina in the Wildcard Round.

That loss cost the Panthers the division title but Cam Newton et al will still be in the post-season as they will meet rivals New Orleans Saints in the Wildcard weekend.
