The Englishman, who is eight years younger than his upcoming opponent, last fought Canelo Álvarez in a step up to middleweight, which ultimately didn’t go to plan as he was knocked out in the sixth round by the Mexican.
Pacquiao’s last bout saw him take a unanimous decision win over Jessie Vargas to win the WBO welterweight title.
