Boxing legend Manny Pacquiao has confirmed that his next fight will be against British fighter Amir Khan.

In what may become a more regular occurrence in years to come, the Filipino took to Twitter to announce the upcoming fight after encouraging his followers to vote for who he should take on next via the social media platform.

The bout has since been confirmed with the Bolton native’s team and is set to take place on April 23, with no venue yet specified.

Khan also took to Twitter to confirm the ‘super fight’ in what will surely go down as a notable event in boxing history.

The Englishman, who is eight years younger than his upcoming opponent, last fought Canelo Álvarez in a step up to middleweight, which ultimately didn’t go to plan as he was knocked out in the sixth round by the Mexican.

Pacquiao’s last bout saw him take a unanimous decision win over Jessie Vargas to win the WBO welterweight title.
