Monday night’s games included Dundalk (Kevin Connolly) against Shamrock Rovers (Jake Roberts) and Crusaders (Nathan Dodds) versus Wolves (Chappers)
The first game was dominated by Jake Roberts as he won all three legs in this fixture. He stuck to his tried and tested teams (for example, France) and was much more comfortable on the ball compared to his opposition player, Kevin Connolly.
It must be said Kevin played out of his skin for most of the games and it was a fixture of the highest quality, but Jake always seems to have that knack of scoring goals when the chance comes along. Jake has shown his dominance throughout the tournament, with only one loss this league campaign while Kevin has adapted to the league quickly and impressively.
The score for each leg was as follows: Shamrock Rovers 3 – 1 Dundalk, France 3 – 1 Brazil and Atletico Madrid 5 – 1 Olympique Lyonnais.
The second and final game of the night was a much tighter and tense affair as two players of equal quality came head-to-head. Both players were playing catch up in the league after a slow start but this game was a golden chance to get right back on track.
All games were very close but didn’t lack goals; defences seemed non-existent and the attackers were running riot.
In the end it was a sweet win for Chappers as he won the first leg and drew the other two.
The scores for this fixture were: Wolves 3-1 Crusaders, Brazil 3-3 Portugal and Bayern Munich 2-2 Real Madrid
