Watch: Verdasco Under Fire For ‘Vile’ Behaviour Towards Ballboy

Verdasco

Fernando Verdasco, the 34-year-old professional Spanish tennis player, has come under fire for his behaviour towards a ballboy at the Shenzhen Open in China.

Verdasco, who knocked out Andy Murray earlier in the tournament, was playing in the semi-final against Yoshihito Nishioka, a match he subsequently lost 1-6, 6-3, 7-6 (10-8).

During the second set, Verdasco gestured wildly at the ballboy for taking too long to bring him his towel. Social media has labelled his action “disgusting” and “vile”. The Spaniard was officially warned by the umpire during the match for his actions.

Check out the incident below:

This is not the first time the 34-year-old has thrown a strop. At an event in Hamburg earlier in the year, he flung his towel at a ballboy.
