A message from Gary ‘Spike’ O’ Sullivan

Here’s a quick message from Gary ‘Spike’ O’ Sullivan ahead of his big fight in Dublin on Friday night.

“Hi all,

I’m ready for my 16th professional fight on Friday night in Dublin and I can’t wait to get into the ring. My training camp has been great, I’m completely injury-free and I feel stronger than I’ve ever felt before a fight.

Everybody is asking about the defence of my WBO International Middleweight and world title eliminator that Frank Warren is lining up for a few months from now, but the fight to focus on is the next one and that’s all I’m thinking about. I want to show what I can do on Friday night first of all and then we’ll look at what’s coming next and start working toward the world title that I feel is my destiny.

I’ll be coming into the ring in Dublin wearing a t-shirt in support of a brave little girl called Abbey McGeough from Ballyvolane in Cork. Abbey is 5, and was born with a number of physical challenges that mean that she now needs an operation to help her to walk. Abbey’s family are raising money to try to get her to America for the necessary surgery, and I hope that anybody who can spare a few Euro will go to the ‘Abbey’s Wish To Walk’ Facebook page and make a donation to help her out.

I want to thank my family in Mahon, my supporters in Cork and across Ireland, and the people from all around the world who have sent me messages of support and encouragement through my Facebook page. They mean the world to me and keep me working hard.

See you in Dublin.
