Watch: Unbeaten Smyth Storms To Gold At Para European Championships

Jason Smyth has secured Ireland’s second gold medal of the World Para Athletics European Championships in Berlin this evening, easing to victory in the Men’s 200m T13 race.

He clocked a time ofย  21.44, breaking the previous European Championship record that he set 13 years ago.

The result means that the Derry native maintains his unbeaten record at this competition.

It’s been a fanstastic day for the Irish at the championships with 22 year-old Greta Streimikyte winning gold in the Women’s T13 1,500m race earlier today.
