The clock is ticking towards August 26 and for the most part, on Conor McGregor and Floyd Maywerather’s behalf, the talking is done.
The four day world press tour which spanned the cities of Los Angeles, Toronto, New York and London last week was sensational. The pair of fighters traded jibes and insults as the verbal battles and psychological warfare ensued ahead of their showdown in the T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas. It all made for enthralling entrainment for viewers.
The promotional binge will surely have paid off for both McGregor and Mayweather by the time the pay-per-view buys have been accounted for in the aftermath of the mega fight. The bout is being touted to break the all-time PPV buy rate record, which stands at around 4.6 million buys for Mayweather’s clash with Manny Pacquiao in May 2015.
At the final leg of the press tour in London, as the extravaganza came to a conclusion, the MMA star exclaimed to the crowd:
“The bullsh*t is now over!
“In six weeks, I’m gonna sleep this fool, and when I do, I’m gonna bounce his head off the canvas as well!”
So, Conor and his undefeated opponent have headed back to their respective training camps in preparation for the fight and the next time the pair see each other will be at the weigh-in on the eve of the fight.
The Mac Life have released a video from behind the scenes of the world tour that is sure to be a fascinating watch for followers of this event. The footage shows us an unseen angle of the tour, giving us a glimpse of what the UFC lightweight champion was getting up to in his time off stage.
