The first episode of the UFC 196 Embedded vlog series is upon us, but it isn’t as heavy on the Conor McGregor experience as one might have expected or some may have hoped.
What we do see of the UFC featherweight champion involves a lot of the usual eccentric movement drills with Ido Portal, some of which looks pretty torturous.
Also included, however, is a glimpse at “The Notorious” one’s new dietary approach.
Normally when the UFC cameras check in with McGregor this close to a fight he is on a very restrictive diet, but with this Saturday night’s contest taking place at welterweight, Conor is enjoying his food. According to the Dublin native’s teammate, Artem Lobov, his new nutritional plan was sent to the team by none other than heavyweight contender Roy Nelson.
Maybe those claims from the Diaz camp that Conor couldn’t make 155lbs had some merit after all.
The rest of the episode focuses on the final preparations of UFC women’s bantamweight champion Holly Holm and challenger Miesha Tate. Holm talks dance moves with her wrestling coach, while Tate talks peaking at the right time on fight night.
Nate Diaz is conspicuous by his absence.
