UFC legend Georges St-Pierre is finally coming out of retirement and will take on UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping for the title, sometime later this year.
Despite there being no date or venue confirmed for the clash, interest in the fight is already sky-rocketing. The press conference held last week to announce the bout was a rowdy affair, with Bisping in fine form having finally been granted the fight he has been seeking for the past year.
GSP returns to the octagon after a three-year hiatus and will enter the cage as a middleweight for the first time in his career. The former welterweight champion, with a record of 25-2, is often considered one of, if not the, greatest fighters ever to go to war within the UFC.
During the boom of the 2000s many fans developed their love of the sport while watching St-Pierre dominate opponents in his unique and aggressive style. His return will give the UFC another superstar that can bag the big pay-per-view numbers that in recent times, only Conor McGregor could achieve.
Ahead of their match-up, the UFC has released, via their Facebook page, a tantalising reminder of just what we might expect from each fighter when they eventually meet, currently provisionally slated for sometime this summer.
