Super prospect Jose ‘Shorty’ Torres improved to 7-0 on Friday night when he absolutely destroyed Colombia’s Alberto Orellano at Titan FC 48.
Torres needed less than four minutes to dispose of Orellano, who had never before been halted by strikes in eight professional fights, and retain his Titan FC flyweight title. A beautiful two-punch combination ended matters, as Torres dropped a sickening left hook to the body before switching upstairs with a perfect short right hand that caused Orellano to collapse like a building rigged for a controlled demolition.
It was a combo that his namesake, the great Puerto Rican light-heavyweight boxer of the 50’s and 60’s, Jose ‘Chegui’ Torres, would have been proud of.

Torres, who also holds the Titan FC bantamweight strap, recently called for the UFC to add him to the upcoming card in his hometown of Chicago, UFC 225(H/t MMAFighting). Vastly experienced and highly decorated as an amateur, with two IMMAF world titles to his name, and undefeated in seven as a pro with five finishes already in the books, Torres looks more than ready for a call-up to the big leagues at this point.
