Brazil’s Marcelo Alfaya scored a savage and sensational one-punch knockout win over Anton Radman of Croatia on Saturday at WFCA 17: Grand Prix Akhmat 2016 in Grozny, Russia.
Alfaya may be familiar to fans of The Ultimate Fighter reality show, as he represented American Top Team in season 21. In his lone fight of the series, the welterweight veteran lost out to Jason Jackson of Blackzilians via majority decision after a disappointing performance.
That fight took place back in February of last year, and Alfaya had not competed since. With his starching of Radman however, the 37-year-old showed that he still has something left in the tank.
Radman’s demise came with less than a minute remaining in the opening session, when a stalking Alfaya threw a left-hook, overhand-right combination with ruthless intent. The left didn’t connect with any real force, but the right slammed into the jaw of the Zagreb native and sent him hurtling to the floor minus his senses. Alfaya added a brutal exclamation mark of a right-hand as Radman lay motionless on the ground wishing he was fighting Mark Hunt.

Alfaya moved to 17-7 as a professional with the first-round victory.
Also in action on the card was former UFC fighter Thiago Silva. The Brazilian, who was once among the most intimidating competitors in the world’s premier promotion, snapped a 2-fight losing streak with a decision win over Stav Economou to move to 17-5(2NC) as a professional.
