Everybody has an opinion on the upcoming superfight between Floyd Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor on Saturday night in the T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas.
Who’s going to win?
All logic points towards a Mayweather victory, which would extend his remarkable professional record to 50-0. The 40-year-old’s incredible and illustrious career has spanned over 20 years and he doesn’t have a blemish on his CV. He is regarded as one of the most technically gifted boxers of all-time, arguably the greatest defensive fighter in history.
His opponent, McGregor, is generally being given a punchers chance and no more by most quarters. However, there are those who believe the Irishman has a 0% chance of winning and on the other hand, there are a very select few making a case for ‘The Notorious’ to shock the world and be the first man to defeat Floyd.
It must be said, if the UFC lightweight champion does somehow manage to upset the odds and come away with a victory on Saturday night that it will truly shock the world.
How can he really expect to cross over from MMA and knock ‘Money Mayweather’ out in his professional debut in the sport of boxing? Floyd has never even been dropped in his long and storied career.
Well, respective boxing and MMA analysts Paulie Malignaggi and Dan Hardy were on hand for Sky Sports to debate who they believe will be victorious in what is being dubbed the biggest fight in combat sports history this weekend.
Malignaggi has been in the headlines of late for sensationally quitting his role as a sparring partner for McGregor in the training camp for this fight and has ever since been blasting the UFC star in the media. He will cover the fight as a commentator on the U.S broadcast of the fight on Showtime pay-per-view. Hardy is an ex-UFC welterweight and is regarded as one of the finest analytical minds in the fight game today and is a part of the Sky Sports Box Office team for the monumental event on Saturday.
