The newbie pair met in a 175lb contest at Cage Titans 27 in Plymouth, Massachusetts on Saturday night, but before either man had any real chance to impress the fight came to a bizarre conclusion.
An attempted takedown sent both men careening into the cage door, which flung open upon impact, causing the combatants to tumble dangerously to the floor. Footage of the incident was made public through the Instagram account of UFC veteran Joe Lauzon, who works with one of the fighters involved.
A Twitter source cited by MMAFighting stated that the bout was declared a no-contest.
