Abubakar Vagaev claimed the biggest scalp and the 13th win of his professional MMA career tonight in Moscow at WFCA 34, but it’s unlikely that he will be celebrating it with real gusto, as the victory came via a freak occurrence.
The welterweight from Grozny, Russia beat 34-year-old former UFC fighter Luiz Dutra Jr. in double-quick time but he inflicted no damage on his foe, rather the Brazilian was the architect of his own demise.
Just seconds into the bout, Dutra launched one of the most wild, agricultural punches that you are likely to see in a combat sports arena and dislocated his own shoulder. It was the first strike that he had thrown in the fight according to the individual behind the wonderful @Grabaka_Hitman Twitter account.

That’s a tad embarrassing.
The loss was Dutra’s second in a row and he dropped to 13-6-1 as a professional. Vagaev has now won 7 of his last 8 contests.
