Marc Diakiese extended his unbeaten record to 12-0 on Saturday night at UFC Fight Night 107 in London and cemented his status as the most exciting prospect in the UFC lightweight division with a scintillating one-punch KO win over Finland’s Teemu Packalen.
It wasn’t just the savage nature of the finish that was impressive, however. Diakiese, who recently began training at the famed American Top Team gym in Coconut Creek, Florida, looked sensational every one of the 30 seconds that this fight lasted.
‘Bonecrusher’ came out looking relaxed but also extremely aggressive and with less than ten seconds gone, he threw a wonderful two-kick combination that brought oohs and ahhs from the London crowd. A vicious turning side kick to the body followed shortly thereafter and pushed Packalen back into the fence.
Sensing that he needed to slow Diakiese’s rapidly building momentum, Packalen began marching forward in an attempt to back up his 24-year-old foe. Unfortunately for the Finn, Diakiese backed up just enough to make room for a beautifully timed and staggeringly brutal right hand that felled Packalen in dramatic fashion.

Diakiese, who resides in England but is a native of the Democratic Republic of Congo, scored his third win in the UFC, his second by way of stoppage. It was also his fourth stoppage win in five fights.
For Packalen, it was a disappointing return to the octagon after more than a year on the shelf. The 29-year-old dropped to 8-2 as a pro and 1-2 in the UFC.
