Jack McGann really knows how to put them away.
The 23-year-old Liverpool lightweight has already notched 11 victories in his professional career and every single one of those has come inside the distance – 10 via KO/TKO and one by submission. Amazingly, 10 of those finishes have also occurred inside the very first round. The only exception is the KO that he scored in his most recent fight at EFN 55 in Moscow on Tuesday.
McGann took on local boy Igor Egorov in the main event of the show, which was aired live on UFC Fight Pass. Egorov came into the bout riding an impressive 3-fight winning streak, but McGann ended that little run with a brutal and beautifully timed uppercut that left the Russian sampling the subtle flavours of the canvas.
It was a nice win for McGann who was coming off of a submission loss to once-beaten Murad ‘Strangler’ Muchaev in September. Aside from that defeat McGann has two other blemishes on his record, losses to Damien Lapilus and Marc Diakiese.
The Diakiese setback doesn’t look at all bad in retrospect though, as the British ‘Bonecrusher’ has since gone on something of a rampage, scoring 3 vicious stoppages on the trot, including a second-round TKO in his UFC debut last time out. McGann remains the last man to go the distance with the undefeated prospect.
