It’s hard not to feel for Jose Aldo…
In December of 2015, Jose Aldo was ranked as the number one pound for pound fighter on the UFC roster. Less than two years later and the Brazilian has lost two of his last three fights, with some even suggesting that his legacy lies in tatters.
The truth is that Aldo will always be remembered as one of the greatest featherweights in the history of the sport. However, the Brazilian was outclassed at UFC 212 on Saturday night as Max Holloway finished him in the third round.
Having performed well in the opening two rounds, Aldo looked devastated in the cage after the fight as the reality of what had just transpired began to sink in.
After the fight, images confirmed that all three judges had scored the first two rounds in favour of the Brazilian. However, those scores would never come into consideration with Holloway expertly finishing the former champion after sending him to the canvas with a strong combo in the third.

As the Brazilian left the cage, MMA Junkie’s John Morgan captured the 30-year-old heading back to his locker room and, it’s fair to say that Aldo looked beyond distraught.
