On Saturday evening, Cub Swanson made light work of Artem Lobov before declaring that he will now turn his attention to getting a featherweight title shot.
Jose Aldo and Max Holloway are due to face off in the UFC 212 main event in June and, given the form that Cub Swanson is in, there is every possibility that the winner of that bout will have to face off against the 33-year-old.
Swanson is on the back of a four fight win streak and has won ten of his last twelve fights. On Saturday night, Cub made light work of Artem Lobov, completely outclassing the SBG man over the course of the five round bout.
However, although Swanson may well be in line for a title shot before the year is out, he has lost to both Holloway and Aldo on previous occasions with his loss to the Brazilian being the most embarrassing moment of his career.
Facing off against Aldo at WEC 41 back in 2009, Swanson was finished before he even had a chance to get going as a flying knee sent him to the canvas in the very first exchange of the bout.
