Shortly after he re-signed with the promotion last year, veteran UFC commentator Joe Rogan revealed that he would no longer work Pay-per-view events taking place outside of North America.
Thus, Rogan did not make the trip to Rio de Janeiro to sit cageside for UFC 212. Instead, he gathered his core crew, Brendan Schaub, Bryan Callen and Eddie Bravo, and filmed a ‘Fight Companion’ edition of his ludicrously successful podcast, ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’.
In the evening’s main event, the South American ‘Scarface’ Jose Aldo and Max ‘Blessed’ Holloway squabbled over featherweight supremacy in one of the most anticipated bouts of the year so far. After a good start from Aldo, Holloway began to find his range in the third round, eventually tagging the Brazilian with a heavy right-hand and sending him to the canvas. At this point, Rogan and Co. lost their minds. The hysterics continued over the next couple of minutes as Aldo tried unsuccessfully to survive the ensuing onslaught from Holloway.
So, if you missed the animated Rogan’s familiar voice during last night’s broadcast and the exciting conclusion of the main event in particular, check out the video below, which is time-stamped to start at the relevant moment(at the 1:55:56 mark).
