With the MMA world waiting for Conor McGregor to announce his next fight, returning legend Georges St-Pierre is preparing for a titanic bout with Michael Bisping at UFC 217.
Georges St-Pierre and Michael Bisping will throw down with the middleweight title on the line at Madison Square Garden on the fourth of November with UFC 217 likely to be one of the promotion’s best selling cards of the year.
The New York event features three title bouts in total with TJ Dillashaw taking on Cody Garbrandt for the bantamweight title while Joanna Jedrzejczyk will defend her strawweight title for the sixth time against Rose Namajunas.
However, despite the gravity of the event, it seems no promotional interview can be completed these days without Conor McGregor’s name cropping up and, speaking to Sports Illustrated about his UFC comeback, Georges St-Pierre was asked if he is angling towards a bout with the Irishman in the not too distant future.
However, rather than fire shots in the direction of the SBG star, GSP was all respect when talking about McGregor, stating that he had ‘raised the bar for everybody’.
