On Saturday evening, Francis Ngannou finished Andrei Arlovski inside the first round in pretty terrifying fashion.
Speaking before UFC on Fox 23, UFC president Dana White, said that he believed Francis Ngannou was not only destined to be a heavyweight champion, but that he could see him successfully defending that title many times over.
“‘The Pitbull’ has been around a long time,” White said speaking of Ngannou’s next opponent. “Obviously, Arlovski is a legend in this sport, a legend in the heavyweight division. But Francis Ngannou will be. I believe that this guy has the potential to become the heavyweight champion of the world. I also believe he has the potential to hold that title for a very long time.”
At 30 years of age, Ngannou now has a perfect 5-0 record since joining the UFC, and after his phenomenal performance on Saturday night, it’s pretty easy to understand why Dana White is so excited about the Frenchman.
Taking on the highly respected Andrei Arlovski, Ngannou made the whole affair look like a formality as he easily dismissed the former champion in the very first round.
