With hype starting to gather momentum around a lightweight title bout between Conor McGregor and Tony Ferguson, Daniel Cormier and Kenny Florian discussed the potential match up on UFC Tonight.
Speaking about the fight, Cormier stated that he now believes that this will indeed be the Irishman’s comeback bout and that it is only a matter of time before it is officially confirmed.
Cormier went on to state that Ferguson fully deserves his shot at the SBG star having fought his way into the position that he now sits in. However, the reigning light heavyweight champion did take issue with ‘El Cucuy’s’ line of trash talking the Irishman stating that it just doesn’t make sense.
‘To say Conor’s all talk anymore is beyond the fact because he has backed it up on a number of occasions before. The argument that he was talking his way into title fights and all this before? Ok, but now you’ve beaten Aldo – the longest reigning featherweight champion of all time – you went up to 155 and knocked out Eddie Alvarez in two rounds and became a two division champion so, it’s not all talk anymore.”
