After Ronda Rousey dropped the bombshell that she would soon be retiring from the world of MMA, UFC President Dana White spoke to TMZ Sports about the former champion’s future.
Although White refused to announce just how many fights Rousey has left in her, the 47-year-old did confirm that she had already informed him of her retirement intentions as she plans to commit full time to acting.
‘I don’t wanna take the wind out of her sails. Let her say her own stuff but obviously I know what’s going on with her. But ya, it’s winding down for Ronda.
Listen, Ronda Rousey’s made a lot of money. She accomplished what she set out to do… And she loves acting, she’s good at it and, if she dedicates herself she’ll be even better at it.’
White also spoke about the future of Canadian outcast Georges St-Pierre and when we will likely see the 35-year-old back in the octagon once again.
Although the UFC President did confirm that the 35-year-old would not be a last minute addition to UFC 206 in Toronto, White did suggest that a comeback isn’t too far off stating that the pair had ‘squashed their beef’.
‘He’s definitly not gonna be on 206 unless something crazy happens in the next couple of weeks… so ya I don’t think so.’
[207?] I don’t know, I don’t know but we’ll see. We’ll see what happens. Listen, me and Georges St-Pierre got together in Vegas and we squashed our beef so, I don’t wanna say something and start beefing with him again. We’re cool.’
