Watch: Dana White Blasts Floyd Mayweather’s Uncle In Heated Post-UFC 210 Press Conference

For months Dana White has been quick to dismiss the likelihood of a Conor McGregor-Floyd Mayweather super fight ever happening. Thankfully, in recent weeks the UFC president has changed his tune and has even gone on record saying he feels obligated to make this fight happen.

The monetary split for the many parties involved posed a huge obstacle but White’s sudden eagerness to make the fight happen seemed to ease the issue.

Founder and CEO of professional boxing promotion company Top Rank, Bob Arum, had previously stated that the UFC would be taking 50 per cent of McGregor’s purse for the fight. However, earlier this week news from inside Mayweather’s camp broke that the UFC would be seeking a significantly larger percentage.

Speaking to Helen Yee of Eyes On The Game (via the Daily Star), Floyd’s uncle, Jeff Mayweather, claimed he knows the split the UFC are demanding.

“80-20 percent. Conor would have to take 20 percent if he’s allowed to fight. And the one thing is that Dana’s his boss. He’ll still make more money than he ever did, but at the same time that’s a very tough pill to swallow.

“If somebody tells you ‘I’m gonna take 80 percent of your money, and you’re the one that’s fighting for it, that’s still a tough pill to swallow. Even if you made more money than you ever did. It is what it is.”

Mayweather’s uncle went on to claim that this enormous percentage split is the only thing delaying the fight being finalised, when he said (via

“That purse split is the major issue. And if he (McGregor) signed the contract, the fight will be made. Floyd has no problem signing the contract, it’s up to Conor.”

During the UFC 210 post-fight press conference on Sunday, White was questioned over any updates on the McGregor-Mayweather fight.

Watch as the outspoken president took this opportunity to dismiss the rumoured split claims with some rather choice words for Mayweather and Arum.
