Watch: Dan Hooker Destroys Ross Pearson With Brutal Knee Strike At UFC Auckland

New Zealand’s own Dan ‘The Hangman’ Hooker scored a sensational win at UFC Fight Night 110 in Auckland on Saturday night, obliterating English lightweight veteran Ross Pearson with a beautifully timed second-round knee strike.

Hooker, who lost a decision to Jason Knight in his last fight back in November, landed the knee as Pearson stepped forward with a left-hook. It snapped Pearson’s head back in sickening fashion and the Sunderland native collapsed to the mat. Hooker got in one follow-up shot, a hammer-fist, before the referee intervened and stopped the fight.

It was Hooker’s fourth win since he made his UFC debut back in June of 2014. All of those victories have come inside the distance, three via KO/TKO and one by submission. However, he has also suffered three decision defeats during his tenure, to Maximo Blanco, Yair Rodriguez and the aforementioned Knight.

In the wake of this defeat, Pearson must be worried for his future with the world’s premier promotion. ‘The Real Deal’ is a useful fighter to have on the roster, as he is willing to fight anyone and tends to be in good scraps, but he has now lost four fights in a row, having dropped decision to Will Brooks, Jorge Masvidal and Stevie Ray prior to being drilled by Hooker.
