Earlier this week Floyd Mayweather revealed via his social media accounts that he will be spending the entire week leading up to his mega fight with Conor McGregor on Saturday night in his personally owned strip club.
Critics suggested that ‘Money’ was playing mind games with his Irish opponent, attempting to create the illusion that he is taking the challenge of McGregor lightly and not taking his training and preparation for the fight seriously, while secretly going about his business as meticulously as ever behind the scenes.
Well, ahead of Saturday night’s showdown, when the world will be watching the undefeated master square off against the MMA star, Mayweather has reinforced that same message. He has stated that he will be partying in his strip club all week, while urging his followers to come and join him in doing so.
Along with this, the 40-year-old has more or less confirmed to all concerned that he is not taking the challenge of McGregor as a legitimate threat. Floyd appears to be really taking ‘The Notorious One’ as “easy work”, which could seriously backfire on him.
In his latest interview, the 40-year-old laughs off the idea of McGregor posing any issues come fight night and insists he will be enjoying his downtime ahead of the massive event in his strip club.
There is a fine line between self-belief and complacency and it is a one which both fighters thread carefully. In the case of Mayweather, he invariably gets that judgement just right. However, in this instance, questions are being raised on the behaviour of the formerly retired boxer who is seeking to extend his remarkable record to 50-0 with a victory on August 26.
