Bellator 139 may have been originally centered around heavyweights Cheick Kongo and Alexander Volkov but in just 34 seconds, Japan’s Hisaki Kato may have become a household name after a brutal finish over Joe Schilling.

Schilling, a fan favourite was the odds on favourite to beat Kato who made his Bellator debut last night in Virginia.

Having fought solely in Japan prior to this bout, it took just 34 seconds of round number 2 for Kato to break away from any nervous energy surrounding him as he unleashed an absolute haymaker of a left hook which flattened Schilling in one of the most brutal finishes in recent memory.

Not a bad way to make a name for yourself on your promotional debut young man.
