The UFC’s huge December 12th card, headlined by the featherweight unification bout between Jose Aldo and Conor McGregor, has been added to several times over the last few days.
The most recent addition, to the already spectacular line-up, is a match between two in-form lightweights. 14-3-1 Brazilian, Leonardo Santos, takes on 11-1 American, Kevin Lee.
Santos, who was the winner of the second Brazilian incarnation of The Ultimate Fighter, has won 3 fights and drawn 1 in the UFC thus far. The 22 year old Lee has won 4 on the spin since losing out in his octagon debut, against the capable Al Iaquinta.
Another former TUF winner has also been added to the card.
Court McGee, who hasn’t fought since a December 2013 loss to Ryan LaFlare, makes his comeback against Brazilian welterweight, Marcio Alexandre Jr. McGee’s hiatus was due to a host of injuries, but the teak tough Utah native is ready to get back in the saddle. He will have his work cut out for him against the dangerous Alexandre, however. Though he is 0-2 in his UFC career so far, the 26 year old is a dangerous striker who has scored 10 of his 11 wins by KO/TKO.
One of the two men to beat Alexandre has also been given a spot on the Vegas event. Warlley Alves will take on Colby Covington, in a match-up of undefeated fighters.
Finally, John Makdessi, who last time out was nearly decapitated by the leg of Donald Cerrone, will take on Hawaiian, Yancy Medeiros. Medeiros also lost to a name fighter last time out, when he fell victim to Dustin Poirier.
Along with the aforementioned main event, the Chris Weidman vs Luke Rockhold middleweight title fight, and the Ronaldo Souza vs Yoel Romero scrap, these recently announced fights bring the total number of bouts on the card to seven.
On paper it already looks like a very exciting showcase, and there are still a few spots left to fill.
