Once considered to be among the best fighter’s plying their trade outside of the UFC, Tom Duquesnoy(14-1) relinquished that status when he signed with the world’s premier mixed martial arts promotion back in January.
The Frenchman’s contract with British promotion BAMMA had come to an end on the 12th of the previous month when he submitted Alan Philpott in a scintillating scrap at BAMMA 27 in Dublin to log his first defence of the promotion’s bantamweight title and his tenth straight victory. “Fire Kid” was also still in possession of the BAMMA feaatherweight title, which had scooped with a win over countryman Teddy Violet in April of 2014.
On Tuesday, it was announced through the UFC France Twitter account (H/t SevereMMA) that Duquesnoy will make his UFC debut on April 15th at UFC on FOX 24 in Kansas City. His opponent will be Patrick Williams.

Williams is a Floridian with an 8-4 record, who has won three of his last four fights. He has, however, been extremely inactive since joining the UFC due to injury. ‘The Animal’ made his promotional debut in April of 2014 and lost via stoppage to Chris Beal. He didn’t fight again until June of the following year, when he picked up his first UFC win with a 23-second submission of Alejandro Perez. Williams hasn’t fought since.
Already confirmed for UFC on FOX 24 is a fight with potential title implications in the women’s strawweight division between Rose Namajunas and Michelle Waterson, as well as an interesting flyweight bout between Louis Smolka and recent flyweight title challenger Tim Elliot.
