Michael Bisping just couldn’t help himself….
At a Nevada State Athletic Commission hearing back in August, in an attempt to explain why a sample he had submitted for testing several weeks prior to his January 31st bout with Nick Diaz was found to have contained both drostanolone metabolites and methyl androstane, Anderson Silva had claimed that a form of sexual performance medication he was taking may have influenced the test results.
He denied that he had ever deliberately taken any banned substance.
Regardless of his protestations, the former UFC middleweight champion was handed a one-year suspension as well as a fine.
Now that he is preparing to make his return to active competition, Silva may live to regret ever making that testimony. After all, every opponent that he will face for the rest of his career will now be armed with ammunition to use against him.
Unfortunately for Silva, the first person that he has been matched-up against in the aftermath of all this is Michael Bisping – a man who will undoubtedly take every opportunity to remind fans and the media of the embarrassing episode.
Bisping has already gotten the ball rolling, in fact.
Just days after it was announced that the pair would headline UFC Fight Night 83 on February 27th at London’s O2 Arena, Bisping took to Twitter to aim this taunt for “The Spider”.
