Twitter: Many Top MMA Journalists Are Sceptical About Conor McGregor’s Latest UFC 200 Claim

Conor McGregor

Conor McGregor’s Twitter account has sent the sports world into a speculative frenzy once again this morning, as the fighter tweeted that he has been reinstated to his position atop July’s massive UFC 200 card.

That the UFC have yet to provide official confirmation of his statement however, has led many to wonder if this is another creative power play from the astute Dublin businessman.

In the wake of McGregor’s claim, MMA journalists everywhere have been reaching out to every available source, including the UFC itself, in a search for some clarity, so far it would seem to no avail.

Perhaps rightfully so in light of recent events, the overall feeling towards “The Notorious” one’s latest update among the sport’s most reputable scribes seems to be one of scepticism.

Over the last few days, all indications were that the opportunity to salvage Conor McGregor’s UFC 200 welterweight rematch with Nate Diaz had passed. At a press conference in Las Vegas on Friday, UFC president Dana White was adamant that the Dubliner was no longer a part of the company’s plans for the show.

Has there been a u-turn in the interim? We await confirmation.
