Twitter: Classy “Cowboy” Cerrone Accepts Dos Anjos Defeat With Dignity And Resolve

In the aftermath of his savage sixty-six second defeat to Rafael dos Anjos on Saturday night, Donald Cerrone seemed to be struggling to come to terms with the manner in which he was beaten.

He told the gathered media at the post-fight press conference that he simply didn’t show up on the night. “The unfortunate part about this job is if you don’t show up to work and the other guy does, you end up getting your ass whipped, don’t you?”, added Cerrone.

Asked if he would now return to his usual busy schedule of fights after this championship setback, Cerrone responded like a man who’s ego had been badly injured.

“I don’t even know if they[the UFC] will want to call me after that ass whoopin'”, said the “Cowboy”.

Given some time to digest the devastation, however, Cerrone took to Twitter the next day with messages that displayed his class and fighting resolve.

First, he congratulated his now two-time conqueror, Dos Anjos, for a job well done – a gesture which drew an equally dignified response from the champion.

Before he reiterated the sentiment instilled in the hastag “beatbutnotbroken”, with a second tweet insuring his fans and followers that he was ready to “dust off and ride again”.
