Snoop Dogg Given Commentary Role With UFC

As we all know, the UFC are never afraid to make some brave decisions. Their latest employment is one which is sure to entertain viewers. Famous rapper Snoop Dogg will commentate on the UFC’s new show ‘Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series.’

If you’ve never seen them, Snoop Dogg’s commentary over fighter’s highlight reels is well worth a listen. The rapper is highly entertaining and this results in plenty of comical moments during the clips. If you haven’t seen them they are well worth checking out here.

Snoop Dogg has always shown an interest in UFC with stars such as Nick Diaz and Dana White appearing on Snoop’s internet show ‘GGG news.’

To think we may see him employed by the UFC as a commentator would have surely been considered a bit of a long shot. However, that is exactly what has happened as the rapper is set to co-commentate on the UFC’s new show ‘Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series.’

The show is set to take place every Tuesday for eight weeks, beginning on July 11. It will be shown on the ‘UFC Fight Pass’ service, it aims to showcase the talent yet to reach the UFC.

Snoop will be joined by UFC legend and fan-favourite Urijah Faber. The ‘California kid’ is sure to be a well-suited match.  Speaking to ESPN, Snoop spoke of his interest in MMA.

“I’m a big fan of UFC and (am) looking forward to joining the team to bring my unique take on all the action, y’all in for a brand-new experience with Dogg on the mic.”

UFC president Dana White has publicly backed the decision. A long time friend of Snoop, White informed us of wanting to involve Snoop in some capacity for a long time.

“Snoop and I have wanted to do something together for a long time, he’s a huge fight fan and wanted to call fights. This is a fun opportunity for fans to opt into SnoopCast and hear his take along with Urijah Faber on how the fights are going.”

We’re sure it’s going to be well worth a watch. Despite the popularity this is sure to bring, it does look as though it will be used as alternative commentary.
