UFC lightweight champion Rafael Dos Anjos is in a confident mood ahead of his title defence next month. The Brazilian 155lb champion takes on featherweight title holder Conor McGregor in one of the most anticipated fights in the promotion’s history.
Dos Anjos was speaking on The MMA Hour this evening, and did not shy away from the trash talk.
“He’s an actor. Once I go in there, I’m a straight guy; I don’t talk, I do. I’m going to go there and send this guy back home and back to his division.
“He’s going to have nightmares about the lightweight division for the rest of his life.”
The Brazilian stated that he refuses to talk trash, and will wait for March 5 for the contest to be settled.
“My parents always told me never to argue with crazy people and to let them talk so that’s what I did.”
Despite claims that he will not trash talk, Rafael Dos Anjos proceeded to do exactly the opposite, and trash talk.
“I’m a cold-headed fighter, I do my job. I know the time will come on March 5 when I will finally put my hands on this guy and he will pay for everything he has said.
“Of course he’s crossing the line but the octagon is the place he will pay for his sins.
“Even Irish fans come to me and ask me to shut this guy’s mouth. The Irish say this guy is embarrassing his own people and making them ashamed.
“I’m going to do it for me, for my coaches, for my family and for my fans.
“I want to thank Dana [White] and Lorenzo [Fertitta] for finally giving me an easy fight.”
This is getting more interesting by the day, and we can’t wait to see the main event at UFC 196 next month.
