Recent UFC lightweight title challenger Donald Cerrone was lucky to make it to training on Tuesday. Actually, he is lucky to be alive.
The always casual Colorado “Cowboy” didn’t seem particularly rattled when he tweeted a picture of his smashed-up truck overturned on the side of the road, but it appears as though he was involved in a fairly serious accident.
The snow on the ground hints, perhaps, at the cause of the crash.
There aren’t too many people who would pair those emoticons with a picture like that, but Cerrone ain’t your average guy.
Not long after this tweet, the fighter switched social media platforms in order to post another picture. Astoundingly, the second photo indicated that Cerrone had wasted no time in getting back to the gym and continuing preparation for his welterweight debut against the heavy-handed Tim Means on February 21st at UFC Fight Night 83.
Cerrone is no stranger to these sort of spills, as a motocross accident he was involved in a number of years ago cost him some internal valuables.
“I was racing some motocross and I wrecked real bad and just kind of spilled my guts out,” said Cerrone in an interview with Sherdog back in 2012. “They had to take a bunch of my intestines and part of my stomach”.
Literally ‘spills his guts’ – walks away. Rolls and totally wrecks his truck – walks away. Yet, can’t last 2 minutes in a cage with Rafael dos Anjos.
Hey Conor, maybe you should reconsider this whole 2-weight champion thing.
