The Official UFC 213 Card For International Fight Week Has Been Finalised

The UFC 213 card has officially been finalised ahead of July 8, international fight week in Las Vegas…

There is no denying that this is a solid card with some mouthwatering scraps set to take place, but It must be said that there is a sense of “what if” as a result of the originally planned main event being cancelled.

The Cody Garbrandt vs. TJ Dillashaw grudge match for the bantamweight championship was pencilled in for UFC 213, but a back injury forced the champion, “No Love”, to withdraw from the bout.

This was a scrap eagerly anticipated by MMA fans in all corners of the globe, especially given the fierce rivalry that has built up between the pair following Dillashaw’s departure from Team Alpha Male, Garbrandt’s gym. The former teammates faced off as coaches in the current series of The Ultimate Fighter, a mechanism used by UFC matchmakers to further promote the fight and intensify the animosity.

However, now that that bout is off the table, we look forward to who will be throwing down in the octagon on July 8. There are several promising fights to get through in what is set to be a cracking night of action, with the card perhaps lacking a blockbuster main event.

Check out the card in full below:

Amanda Nunes, last seen knocking Rounda Rousey out into retirement, will take on Valentina Shevchenko with the women’s bantamweight title on the line in what is the card headliner.

Yoel Romero and Robert Whittaker will fight it out for the interim middleweight belt while Michael Bisping waits in the wings for either a unification bout with the winner of this one or a superfight with the returning Gerorges St-Pierre.

‘Ruthless’ Robbie Lawler returns to the octagon for the first time since losing his welterweight strap to Tyron Woodley in what is set be a barnstormer against the always entertaining Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone.

All this and more make for a stacked card and one we can’t wait for. The UFC is in for a busy summer and MMA fans will unite in excitement for this particular night of cage fighting.
