Norman Parke Has Been Offered A New Contract By The UFC

Norman Parke won The Ultimate Fighter in 2012.

Antrim’s Norman Parke announced via social media on Tuesday that he had been offered a new contract by the UFC.

The news must come as a huge relief to the Northern Irishman, as the company has been ruthlessly cutting fighters in their droves over the last month. Yesterday, Dublin’s Paul Redmond became the latest UFC combatant to receive his marching orders. The Team Ryano fighter had lost two in a row since joining the promotion.

Though Parke is coming off of a victory, his 2-2-1 record in his last 5 fights isn’t particularly good to look at, and neither was his last fight for that matter. So he can’t have been completely confident that he was going to be re-signed.

That decision win over Reza Madadi at UFC Dublin was obviously enough, however, to convince the higher-ups in the company that “Stormin” Norman was worthy of another contract.

Via his Twitter account, the 28-year-old also let his fans know that his next fight was “in the works”.
