Nate Diaz’s latest social media post suggests the American has no interest in getting back in the octagon any time soon.
The outspoken proponent for the legalisation of marijuana, along with his brother Nick, is a well known and unashamed user of the recreational drug.
2016 has been a year of contrasting fortunes for the Diaz brothers as older brother Nick received an 18 month suspension from the UFC for drugs violations in January while Nate enjoyed two wildly lucrative pay-per-view headline showdowns with the UFC Featherweight champion Conor McGregor.
It seems now that the millions banked by the younger Diaz brother has now set him up such that he has no interest in returning to the octagon any time soon. This is a point made abundantly clear with his most recent Instagram update.
With Nick suspended until the summer of 2017 and Nate awaiting the ruling of the Nevada Athletic Commission following his post-UFC 202 vaping of a cannabinoid, it seems the brothers have taken a more ‘relaxed’ approach to their disciplinary troubles.
Should the powers that be decide to drop by in the coming days for an out-of-competition drugs test, trouble might be waiting for the Diaz brother. However, it must be said that the image posted merely shows what looks like a rolled cigarette, albeit a rather large one. There is no indication of any illegal substances or even if it was smoked by either brother.
Suggestion however, is pretty strong and the UFC might well take a dim view of the image.
