Fighters Call On UFC To Fire Snoop Dogg After Expletive-Laden Rant On McGregor Defeat

Multiple UFC fighters are calling on the promotion to fire rapper Snoop Dogg from his position as a commentator for the Dana White Tuesday Night Contenders Series after he launched an expletive-laden diatribe in the direction of Conor McGregor following the Irishman’s defeat to Floyd Mayweather Jr.

“50 and 0 n****. The motherf***ing champ, n****,” yelled Snoop in an Instagram video posted shortly after Robert Byrd stepped in to save McGregor from excessive punishment in the tenth-round of Saturday night’s cross-codes super-fight. “50 and 0. F*** that motherf***ing punkass McGregor, you b****. F*** him. Motherf***ing champ, n****(Transcription via MMAFighting).

“Yeah, n****. That’s what you get for coming to a motherf***ing gang fight with a butter knife you b***ass motherf***er. F*** you, n****. Money Team champ, n****. Where the party at, Floyd? Yeaaah!”

The 45-year-old, whose real name is Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., subsequently changed tack and gave McGregor some credit for his performance, strangely and suddenly upgrading the Irishman from “punkass b****” to “bad motherf***er.”

“Hey, 50 and 0, n****. Hey, McGregor a bad motherf***er though. I’ll give him his, he got heart. He got heart.” he said.

“Good win tonight champ. Good fight McGregor, that was a great f***ing fight, man. Now we celebrate,” Snoop added in a later post.

This isn’t the first time that Snoop has verbally attacked a UFC fighter following a defeat, as he previously took a shot at Daniel Cormier after ‘D.C’ was finished by a Jon Jones head kick and a brutal follow-up barrage of grounded strikes at UFC 214.

“You see what he [Jon Jones] did to DC? He had him crying like a b-tch,” Snoop told TMZ. “You shouldn’t have been talking all that sh-t when he was on suspension. Never talk about a man when he’s down; you wanna pick him up when he’s down.”

Shortly after that, UFC lightweight Al Iaquinta and welterweight veteran Matt Brown suggested that Snoop Dogg should be replaced on DWTNCS.

Following his latest McGregor-related tirade, the pair reiterated their point.

“I hope this idiot gets fired,” wrote Brown on Instagram and Twitter. “Let’s get #firesnoop trending he don’t need to be involved in our sport at all.” Responding via Twitter, Iaquinta did his part to help Brown’s hashtag gain momentum.

This time they were joined in their criticism of Snoop by welterweights Alan Jouban and Colby Covington.

“A lot of people not speaking up on this topic but I can’t be one of those anymore,” Jouban wrote in an Instagram post. “@danawhite @ufc how can we employ this guy and co-promote the two brands together when all he does is trash our fighters.

“I grew up loving Snoops music and his cool persona too but he knows nothing about MMA and makes a mockery of the sport. A lot of people give him a pass because its Snoop. But it’s more negativity than good that I hear from him daily. He’s just getting paid and don’t care about @ufc. How he spoke about @dc_mma and others shouldn’t allow him a job opening with our company. I’m out!”

“Yo @SnoopDogg chill out guy, you ain’t tough,” added Covington. “And if it were a REAL fight in the streets or @ufc octagon, Floyd gets murdered.”

DWTNCS is a show on which some of the top talent from outside of the UFC compete to earn contracts with the promotion under the watchful eye of UFC president Dana White. The UFC Fight Pass program does feature regular play-by-play but fans can access alternative commentary on the via the SnoopCast feature. This is provided by Snoop Dogg and UFC Hall of Famer Urijah Faber.
