The sport of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) has received a major boost this evening with the news that New York has legalised the sport.

It has been a long time coming, and this is a major step forward for the sport as a whole. Many who opposed the combat sport in the past pointed to it being outlawed in New York, but as of tonight, this is no longer the case.

While the majority were in favour of the move, there was opposition, some stranger than others.

The following statement has just been overheard in Pundit Arena HQ:

“Conor McGregor vs Frankie Edgar in New York in November. Heard it first here.”

While this is by no means a certainty, there is a distinct possibility that we could see a major UFC card taking place in the Big Apple soon.

Madison Square Garden could be the venue for some big fight nights later this year.
