Michael Bisping has just posted an update on Instagram having undergone surgery on his knee for a torn miniscus.
Britain’s first UFC champion, Michael Bisping, recently confirmed the news that he would be out for some time with injury. Initially hoping to defend his title against Yoel Romero in early 2017, Bisping admitted that it now looks like it will be April or May before he is capable of entering the ocatagon once again.
“I have to defend that belt, simple as that. Dana actually- Dana White, UFC president- actually contacted me and spoke about a fight recently but I’ve been having a lot of issues with my knee so I’ve got to have a knee surgery.”
“Maybe around end of April, May something like that, I’ll take a fight.”
That surgery took place on Friday and, posting on his official Instagram account, Bisping announced that, although he isn’t feeling 100%, the procedure had been a success.
“Just waking up in the morning gotta thank God, I don’t know, but today I feel kind of odd!! Thank you Dr Mora and his team for taking care of me. Surgery successfully completed, but I’m feeling a little peculiar right now lol.”
