McGregor Blasts Fellow Irishman Joseph Duffy

Conor McGregor finished Wednesday evening’s trash talk with a Snapchat Q & A, where inevitably Joseph Duffy and his main event against McGregor’s fallen nemesis Dustin Poirier was discussed.

As has been exhausted at this point, Duffy was the last man to beat Conor McGregor back in Cage Warriors. McGregor was dismissive of his countryman and the draw of the main event against the Diamond.

To completely overshadow the fight, McGregor also revealed he had requested a fight on the Dublin Fight Night card. However, it wasn’t just any fight – it would have been a superfight between him and fellow TUF coach Uriah Faber.

But he obviously won’t forget Duffy, a matter he wants to take care of. McGregor ripped into him as a fighter and an Irishman.  Duffy had left MMA in 2011 and pursued a professional boxing career where he went 7-0 before returning to MMA.  He called the man with “Dun Na Gall” tattooed across his back out for not being Irish, presumably because of the fact he was raised in Wales, has trained in the UK and now trains in Tri-Star in Canada.

It’s a real treat for fight fans to know that absolutely everyone in the UFC wants a piece of McGregor.  He brings the name, the prestige, a bigger purse, a bigger crowd, more UFC brass interest, more PPV buys and the kind of buzz that only a generational talent can generate.  If he follows Aldo up with Mendes, Faber, Dos Anjos, Cerrone and then Duffy it only will strengthen the Sport.
