UFC 209 Payout Details Emerge, Khabib Nurmagomedov Misses Out On A Hefty Sum

According to Nevada Athletic Commission(NAC) records, via MMAJunkie, Tony Ferguson received his show money for UFC 209 despite the fact that the man he was supposed to face, Khabib Nurmagomedov, was pulled from the card just hours in advance.

Though he lost out on the opportunity to fight for the UFC interim lightweight title and a $250,000 win-bonus, the $250,000 Ferguson did receive will go a long toward easing his pain.

However, Nurmagomedov’s pain will probably linger.

The Russian, who was removed from the bout based on the recommendations of medical personnel after being hospitalized due to negative effects of a tough weight-cut, would have made $500,000 if he had made it into the octagon on Saturday night.

Nurmagomedov would not have been competing for a win-bonus.

ESPN’s Brett Okamoto reported the figures on Saturday night and also revealed the salaries of UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley, his challenger Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson, heavyweight Alistair Overeem and his foe Mark Hunt.

The first figure in each case is the show money, while the second is the win-bonus for which the fighter was competing.
