In an interview with Ariel Helwani onĀ UFC Tonight, this past Wednesday, Jose Aldo discussed his decision to pull out of UFC 189 and his plans for Conor McGregor when they eventually meet in the octagon.
The featherweight champion’s withdrawal from one of the biggest events in the history of the UFC has come under intense scrutiny from fans and the media alike. Some have questioned the legitimacy of the injury, others have just questioned the Brazilian’s heart.
In the video below Aldo addresses the doubters and speaks about whether he feels he made the right decision to take the night off.
Aside from dealing with those issues, Aldo also tells Helwani about his feelings toward the interim-title and the potential venues for the McGregor fight, before closing with a warning for the Irishman.
It’s an intriguing interview.
