Oh just announce the damn thing already…
With the Conor McGregor vs Floyd Mayweather ‘super fight’ now seeming like the longest running saga in the history of combat sports, one reporter is now claiming that both parties have signed the contract and the fight is on.
Joe Biggs is a reporter and also a business partner of David Niño Rodriguez, a former heavyweight who is reportedly close to the Mayweather camp. As such, his claim that the deal is now done holds some weight but it remains a far cry from an official confirmation.
Meanwhile, speaking about the latest twists in the Mayweather/McGregor saga, Floyd’s uncle confirmed that the boxer was back in the gym and training regularly.
Breaking down the current state of affairs, Jeff Mayweather admitted that he did not know if the bout had been signed off on, but he did know that Floyd was training regularly – something the boxer would not be doing unless he was preparing for a fight.
‘All I know is Floyd’s training so, he’s getting ready for something… He’s working and he’s working consistently and, normally he wouldn’t do that unless he’s getting ready for something.’ – Jeff Mayweather
Meanwhile, Conor McGregor’s coach John Kavanagh uploaded the following image to his Instagram account this week adding further fuel to suspicions that an announcement is imminent.
