SBG’s John Kavanagh has made his picks for this weekend’s epic UFC 218 card…
With the UFC’s end of year card turning into a shambolic affair, UFC 218 is now undoubtedly the best MMA event remaining in this calendar year.
The card features a plethora of mouth-watering clashes that will eventually be headlined by a featherweight title bout featuring Jose Aldo and the current 145 lbs champion, Max Holloway.
Two other blockbuster fights also feature with the highly rated Francis Ngannou taking on Alistair Overeem in the co-main event while Eddie Alvarez and the undefeated Justin Gaethje also lock horns in a bout that the former lightweight champion has declared will determine the ‘UFC’s most violent man’.
Ahead of the Detroit show, John Kavanagh has dropped his predictions with the Irish MMA coach making some rather odd picks. Despite the fact that both Jose Aldo and Eddie Alvarez are both heavy underdogs in their respective bouts, Kavanagh has backed both the Brazilian and the ‘Underground King’ to come out on top on Saturday night.

Of course, McGregor has also faced and triumphed over Max Holloway in his early UFC career but it’s interesting to see that Kavanagh fancies Aldo over the Hawaiin given the fact that the 25-year-old is on an 11-fight win streak and has only recently finished the Brazilian.
